                   AN ORDINANCE CLOSING AND ABANDONING WEST 35TH
                   STREET AND AN ALLEY LOCATED SOUTHEAST FROM 
                   LONG STREET, NORTHEAST OF WEST 37TH STREET,
                   MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby 
closed
         and abandoned 35th Street and an alley located southeast from 
Long
         Street, northeast of West 37th Street., more particularly
         described herein, and as shown on plat attached hereto and made 
a
         part hereof by reference:
                West 35th Street, a 50 foot wide unopened
                right-of-way beginning on the southeast line of
                Long Street 610 feet northeast of the intersection
                of the southeast line of Long Street with the
                northeast line of West 37th Street, thence
                northeast 50 feet with Long Street, thence
                southeast some 555 feet with the southwest line of
                block 39, Long Street Addition to Chattanooga, as
                shown by plat of record in plat book 5, page 27,
                R.O.H.C., to the northwest line of the Southern
                Railroad right-of-way, thence southwest some 70
                feet with said railroad right-of-way to the
                northeast line of block 40, said Long Street
                Addition, thence northwest some 510 feet with the
                northeast line of said block 40 to the southeast
                line of Long Street, the point of beginning.  Said
                street separates lots 4-14 and part of lots 2 and
                3, block 39, from lots 8-14 and part of lots 4-7,
                block 40, said Long Street Addition.
               
                A 10 foot wide unopened alleyway beginning on the
                southeast line of Long Street 465 feet northeast of
                the intersection of the southeast line of Long
                Street with the northeast line of West 37th Street,
                thence northeast 10 feet with Long Street, thence
                southeast some 375 feet to the northwest line of
                the Southern Railroad right-of-way, thence
                southwest some 15 feet with said railroad
                right-of-way, thence northwest some 350 feet to the
                southeast line of Long Street, the point of
                beginning.  Said alleyway separates lots 8-14 and
                part of lot 7, block 40, from lots 15-18 and part
                of lots 19-22, block 40, said Long Street Addition. 
                Tax Map No. 155K-A-3-6.
               
               
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
provided
         by law.
